The second part of my journal I chose a skate park because it has a lot of magic to discover, a lot of adrenaline. Moreover, it is a place with a lot of things to explore photographically. This time I decide to be focused in the “decisive moment” that Cartier-Bresson was focused as well. Essentially, I was interested in the decisive moment because it is the moment where the main point of the event should be frozen in order to be remembered. The viewer always wants to see those specific moments that are unique. They want to receive the message that the photograph’s composition has for them. Every event has decisive moments; however, we as a witness, are who decide what and why certain instants are the decisive moment. In other words, we decide how to capture the context of the event that we are seeing, and then shoot the decisive moment that we believe is going to show the context clearly. The park that I visited was full of these important moments, all these guys just breathe adrenaline. Therefore, I knew that this adrenaline should be captured to show the context of these sorts of places; therefore, I shot the boys tricks, jumps, falls, courage, no fear, and discipline. Resnais did a great job approaching us to the real faces of the Nazi ideology, during and after the war. He revealed all the dire things that prisoners were exposed by. In fact, he did not measure the amount of strong content that those images have, but it was his idea at the moment of acquiring the concept of decisive moment. In between of these shocking images, he showed the same places, during and after the issue. Therefore, it makes us bring to our mind the image of the tortuous past within the peaceful present’s images that are still painful. Finally, I consider that it was done with objectivity because he attempted to reveal the reality that was hidden; moreover, he was trying to create a reflection from all these events on the viewer.
